Top 5 Rules

Top 5 “Live Like A Star…Sorta” Rules!

1.  Research
If you want to have a taste of the high life, you’re going to have to do some research.  Visiting my website is obviously an extremely intelligent place to start.  :)   There are also many other ways to gather information.  Try subscribing to Us Weekly Magazine and read that baby from cover to cover!  Hot restaurants, hotels, nightlife and shopping locations are revealed on their pages every week.  Watch entertainment news programs like E! News.  Vegas.com is great for info on Vegas hotspots!

2.  Fashion
Even if you don’t typically worry about fashion, you’ll want to consider it in order to “Live Like A Star…Sorta”.  If you can spring for a few designer items, pick classic pieces that aren’t too trendy and are of good quality.  Check out discount stores like Marshall’s, Ross and Steinmart for slashed prices on name brand clothes.  If you stick with simple, classic items and keep the flash in the accessories, you’ll be good to go.  Make sure you’re clean, well-groomed and dressed nice, and  you will feel and look fabulous during your star moment!

3.  Etiquette
This rule is important in obvious and not-so-obvious ways.  You’re probably assuming that I’m going to tell you to have good table manners at the nice restaurants.  And while thats important, there’s really more to it.  I have learned that the majority of the folks that visit fancy restaurants don’t practice strict table etiquette, and honestly I’m no pro either.  I have witnessed folks that get so caught up in the “act proper.. i’m in a nice restaurant” thing, that they end up looking silly and feeling uncomfortable.  Just relax!  The people in this restaurant are no better than you.  And finally, you should avoid a major freakout in the presence of famous folks, but you certainly don’t want freeze up or possibly miss an opportunity to meet someone interesting.  Just find a happy medium and use your great personality to possibly meet someone you really admire.

4.  Money
You were wondering when I would bring this up, weren’t you?  The fact of the matter is, its going to cost some money to dress yourself nicely, groom yourself well and pay for the fancy meals, theatre and shopping trips.  Not to mention the fact that most of us don’t already live in L.A. or New York, so you’re going to have to buy some plane tickets as well.  First thing’s first…work hard at your job.  Keep (or get) a steady job and be devoted to doing it well.  Without your income, well, you’re screwed.  As I mentioned before, buy classic clothing items that you can wear over and over again.  Check the web for travel discounts, and only visit L.A. and NYC when you can get the best prices.  And most importantly, don’t waste money on things that don’t matter.  Set aside money for your next ”Live Like A Star…Sorta” moment instead.  Keep your eye on the prize!

5.  Fun!
This is definitely the most important rule.  The point to “Live Like A Star…Sorta” is to encourage you to actually go out and do all of those fun things you always dreamed of.  Whether you’re dining in Las Vegas, shopping in Beverly Hills or attending the Opera in New York, have a lot of fun! :)
